Chevrat Bonim, the Society of Builders, is the Tifereth Israel Legacy Honor Society. Chevrat Bonim consists of members and friends of Tifereth Israel Synagogue who have included a gift to the synagogue’s Endowment Fund in their estate planning or contributed during their lifetime. Donations to the Endowment Fund are held at the Jewish Community Foundation and are invested for us according to Tifereth Israel’s investment policy. Income is used annually to fund our programs and services, but the principal of the gifts we receive is never withdrawn. They will last our lifetime and beyond.

The Jewish Community Foundation established the Create a Jewish Legacy program in San Diego in 2004 and continues to provide it to our community. It has become a national model, operating in more than 50 cities. They work in partnership with local Jewish Organizations, Day Schools, and Synagogues to plan for a vibrant and sustainable future.
Tifereth Israel Synagogue has been a proud Create a Jewish Legacy participant since its inception, and is widely considered to be the local model for the program.
The Jewish Community Foundation offers complimentary legacy planning services, with the utmost confidentiality, to all community members.
