Whether a princess or a villain, Disney has them all…and so will our Purimshpiel! This year’s retelling of the story of Esther, King Achashverus, Mordechai, and Haman will be set to some of our favorite Disney songs. We want to be “Part of Your World” and so we’re inviting you to “Be Our Guest” for an evening of fun and folly. There will be “Something There” for everyone so “Be Prepared” to enjoy yourself.
This annual event brings in hundreds of visitors and you’ll want to be one of them! As always, our show is open to all and free of charge so be sure to invite friends and family to join the fun.
Shake it for Haman and Do a Mitzvah!
Put your hands up in the air with boxes of “noisy” food (macaroni, couscous, cereal, etc.) that you’ll bring to use as groggers to drown out the name of Haman. After the show, we’ll collect all of the items and donate them to JFS Hand Up Youth Food Pantry. Bring other non-perishable items to contribute, too!
Traditional Megillah Readings
Following the Purimshpiel, a complete Megillah reading will take place in the Goodman Chapel at approximately 7:30 p.m. A full reading of the Megillah will also take place on Tuesday, March 10th, during an earlier-than-usual Minyan at 7:00 a.m.
