Dear Tifereth Israel Family,

In light of the recent tragedy in Pittsburgh I’m asking you to join us Saturday, November 3rd, as we #ShowUpForShabbat, a new nationwide initiative by American Jewish Committee (AJC). Its goal is to fill synagogues across the country this upcoming Shabbat. It calls for all Jews, our allies, elected officials, civic and religious leaders of all faiths to come together and stand as one united community.

Although I don’t think Jewish guilt should ever be a reason to come to synagogue, I invite you, not because of guilt, but because of pride, out of love, to stand with our community to come to synagogue this Shabbat. Please note, child care will be provided and security will be on site.

We will not be afraid. We will not allow hatred and bigotry to destroy our faith. We stand together. We mourn together. We will move forward together. Please join us this week, and every week, as we show up for Shabbat.

Wishing you all comfort and healing,

Rabbi Josh Dorsch
