Welcome Rabbi Mathew and Marie Marko

Tifereth Israel Synagogue is happy to welcome Rabbi Mathew Marko and his wife Marie to our congregational family and the entire community. Rabbi Marko officially begins as our spiritual leader on Friday, July 1st. This is an exciting next step in our congregation’s rich history.

During the coming weeks, there will be a series of Meet and Greet opportunities. In addition, Shabbat services (including our upcoming Pray at the Park gathering) are always a wonderful way to meet Rabbi Marko.

A few fun things to know about Rabbi Marko and Marie…

Rabbi Marko enjoys motorcycling, learning new languages, wood-working (with an emphasis on Jewish ritual objects and synagogue furniture), bicycling, playing guitar, theater, Jewish summer camp, and creating international kosher cuisine. He is also a certified scuba divemaster!

Marie enjoys gardening and, is in fact, a Master Gardener. She is also the world’s best safta (grandmother in Hebrew), and makes a mean chile relleno.

Together, they enjoy world travel, all things Israel, and time with family. They are both very excited about beginning this new chapter.

Rabbi Marko says “We're just regular people, hopefully the kind of people you'd want to grab a beer or a coffee with. We can only be us... just Matt and Marie!''

Don't miss out! Stay up to date with the latest happenings at our synagogue.
