‘Shpiel | Parade | Mitzvah
We wouldn’t think of not offering our traditional TIS Annual Purimshpiel to you, our members, and the entire community. Many former cast members will join us and lend the offerings to this year’s show featuring a collage of musical genres.
As always, our show is open to all and free of charge so be sure to invite friends and family to join the fun.
Click here to join the fun on ZOOM! Please note, the Purimshpiel will be recorded.
Costume Parade
We encourage everyone to dress up and enhance the merriment. We’ll have a virtual costume parade so that we can share everyone’s creativity while we celebrate the holiday! Don’t be shy! All ages are encouraged to help us bring the Purim joy to everyone’s screen. Get out the hats, make-up, wigs, and more and show us what you’ve got.
Shake it for Haman and Do a Mitzvah!
Be sure to arm yourselves with boxes of “noisy” food (macaroni, couscous, cereal, bags of nuts/grains/seeds, etc.) that you’ll use as groggers to drown out the name of Haman. We ask that you drop these items (along with any other non-perishable items you’d like to contribute) at TIS. You can leave them with our guard beginning on Sunday, February 28th – Friday, March 5th during the following hours:
- Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – noon
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Traditional Megillah Readings
Following the Purimshpiel, a complete Megillah reading will take place on Zoom at 7:30 p.m. A full reading of the Megillah will also take place on Friday, February 26th, during an earlier-than-usual Minyan at 7:00 a.m.
But Wait! There’s More Purim Fun!
- Don’t forget to order Hamantaschen by Sunday, February 14th.
- Be sure to order Mishloach Manot (Purim gifts) by Thursday, February 18th.
- Although we won’t be able to share a Purim Feast, join us at The Delicat-Essen on Thursday, February 18th at 7:00 p.m. We’ll be sharing veggie/vegan recipes in honor of Queen Esther.
