Join us for some summertime events that will allow you to get a taste of what we’re all about.

Pray at the Park, Friday, August 20th, 6:15 p.m.

Enjoy a Shabbat celebration with family and friends in the natural setting at Lake Murray Community Park. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our staff and many members in a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

We always like to treat new and prospective members to dinner at Pray at the Park so let us know who is coming. Contact Beth Klareich, Program Director, to let her know if you’ll be joining us. You may email her at or phone her at 619 697-6001 ext. 108.

We'll provide kiddush grape juice, challah, and dessert. Be sure to bring lawn chairs and blankets to stretch out and relax. The kids will enjoy the open space. Leashed dogs are welcome as well.

Lake Murray Community Park is on Murray Park Drive, between Golfcrest and Madra, in San Carlos. (Note: this is the area with the playground and baseball fields.) No service will be held at Tifereth Israel Synagogue -- please join us at the park!

Guilty Pleasures, Savory Sins, and the New Year, Sunday, August 22nd, 10:30 a.m.

Coffee, tea, and chocolate are some of our favorite indulgences. But with issues such as fair trade, sustainability, and health benefits, it’s hard to know whether we are harming ourselves or the world around us. Join us to learn more about all of this and enjoy tasting a variety of samples provided by Trader Joe’s.

We’ll also share some ideas to help enhance your upcoming High Holy Day observances. Fun ideas, recipes, and more will be available for you to take home, including a special gift for each family to get ready for the holiday season.

Be sure to bring the kids. We’ll have a special activity and then provide playground supervision while they enjoy our incredible Shekhter Family Gan Yeladim, a state-of-the-art playground. There will be yummy treats for them, too.

This event is free and open to all but we do ask that you RSVP by August 16th so we can be properly prepared. Reservations may be made online or call the office at 619 697-6001.

If you or someone you know has questions about membership, please contact Beth Klareich, Program Director at or call 619 697-6001 ext. 108. You may also explore our website for more information on membership and all of our events and programs.
