Praying with Intention – 1/30

Sunday, January 30th, 10:00 a.m.

Cantor Hanan Leberman will join us on Zoom to help us discover how and why we pray. This is part of a continuing series of explorations of the prayers that we sometimes say without fully understanding them. Cantor Leberman will continue to help us develop a deeper connection to ritual, prayer, and God.

This month: A deep dive into Kabbalat Shabbat

The sages teach us that the holy Shabbat is "מֵעֵין עוֹלָם הַבָּא" (a taste from the world to come). Kabbalat Shabbat is the moment we receive this gift from heaven. Join me in exploring the mystical traditions and magical melodies that formulate the prayer "Kabbalat Shabbat" our greeting the Shabbat queen.

Everyone is encouraged to join us for minyan at 8:30 a.m. to get the learning process started. If you are joining us in-person for minyan, we invite to come back into the Goodman Chapel for Praying with Intention.
