Immediately following Cantor Hanan leading this week’s Havdalah, he will lead us in song and uplift our spirits. This will also be an opportunity to honor mothers (Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10th!), and acknowledge Lag B’Omer which begins at sunset on Monday, May 11th. This evening’s event is appropriate for all ages!
What is a Kumzitz?
Kumzitz (קומזיץ) is a compound-word in Hebrew derived from the Yiddish words קום (come) and זיץ (sit). The word is used to describe a musical gathering. Everyone sits together, be it on the floor or on chairs, and sings. This is a beautiful way to connect with others.
