Meet our comedians:
Tony Calabrese’s comedy is best described as frustrated middle aged married fat guy meets lazy ninja. His exuberant body language and facial expressions combined with his over the top takes on life’s events make him an audience favorite everywhere.
At 60, he has been married for 39 years, in a row, and has two grown sons and three grandchildren. He talks about life, world events, marriage, kids, grandkids, the corporate world, and the trials and tribulations of not staying in top physical condition.
Melissa Greenberg, a San Diego Native has recently returned to California, after 25 years in NYC, performing at clubs and venues all over New York (Gotham, Broadway Comedy Club). Currently, she can be seen in the movie, “Unfallen”, and performing in clubs and colleges all over Southern California.
Simon Blackthorn has been doing standup for about five years, in Colorado and Cambridge MA but mostly around the San Diego area. He’s played at the Comedy Store in La Jolla, and at the Comedy Palace, and at Comedy Heights and at Humphrey’s and other venues in San Diego. Blackthorn has also been featured and headlined at smaller clubs around town.
Scott Blumen has performed standup in San Diego for 5 years at local clubs such as Mad House, Comedy Palace, Winston’s, and the Comedy Store. His style is “Borscht Belt meets Mission Valley”, as he appeals to a wide range of audiences. Scott and his lovely wife Karen have been members of Tifereth Israel Synagogue since 1992. In his spare time, Scott is a California State Bar Certified Legal Specialist in workers’ compensation law.
Dr Abby has been called “the world’s most inappropriate grandmother” at the Boulder Colorado JCC. Additionally Abby November has been called “the Jewish mother of Austin comedy” by the Austin Chronicle.
