TIS offers a variety of occasions to create meaningful memories for children, teens, and families. The following is a list of opportunities:
A great beginning starts at Silverman Preschool. As early as six weeks of age, children may join our warm and welcoming program. Gesher (bridge) a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class that is parallel to the Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) classes in public schools, is also available. Our focus, at all ages and stages, is on the development of social-emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. Developmental milestones are achieved through play and exploration.
A complimentary monthly class for children who will enter Kindergarten in the fall of the 2024-2025 school year. This class is a bridge from the preschool experience to our Torah School program. The class will be filled with joy, music, hands-on learning, and more.
Torah School (grades K-7) is about creating community through learning. Whether it’s Shabbat and holidays, Jewish identity, values and ethics, Israel, or a myriad of other focuses, this is a foundational piece in Jewish education. Enhanced with music, art, cooking, and other hands-on activities, the learning is engaging and fun.
Community Jewish High (CJH)
Open to students in grades 8 – 12, CJH is a partnership between Tifereth Israel and Temple Emanu-El. We strive to create a community of Jewish teens who learn together and who learn about one another—who will forge connections that will extend beyond the confines of our classrooms.
Our Youth Department offers several age appropriate groups encompassing grades K – 12. Our program hosts social, cultural, educational, and religious opportunities helping to create a well-rounded variety of occasions to create strong young leaders. Our program is affiliated with United Synagogue Youth (USY) which hosts chapters throughout the country.
Families with children ages infant to pre-kindergarten are invited to join Rabbi Matt for this monthly gathering. With music and stories, families will enjoy the joy of Shabbat. Together, we’ll share the sights, sounds, and flavors (challah and grape juice!!) and welcome Shabbat.
This family-friendly service will be welcoming and appropriate for all ages. We look forward to sharing this Shabbat experience with you! Students from Abraham Ratner Torah School will participate in the service. Services are open to everyone, and we look forward to seeing you there.
