Learn Bridge with TIS Friends

Beginning Bridge classes are starting up at TIS, taught by our member Phil Lorang. There are absolutely no prerequisites, and no fee. All TIS members aged 16 and up are welcome. Your non-TIS friends are welcome also. Those without a partner will be paired up, week by week.

You may have heard that Bridge is stressful and/or hard. However, that all depends on who is playing with you at the Bridge table. With friends from TIS at the table, it’s all going to be good.

*The scheduled classes are full. If you are interested in the possibility of another class time, or in just playing Bridge, please contact Phil Lorang.

Each of six weekly class sessions will include some lecture, some play, and a good amount of socializing. Sessions will be about 90 minutes, with a break. Each Sunday morning session will be repeated on Tuesday morning, so you can pick the day that fits your schedule. If you miss a Sunday session, you can catch up on Tuesday. Each session will be limited to eight regularly attending learners.

Class Schedule:

  • Sundays, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. beginning November 7th
    (Complete schedule – November 7th, 14th, 21st and December 5th, 12th, and 19th)
  • Tuesdays, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. beginning November 9th
    (Complete schedule – November 9th, 16th, 23rd and December 7th, 14th, and 21st)

Because we will be in close proximity for an extended period indoors, the instructor and all participants must be fully vaccinated and masked. If you are not already on our list of vaccinated members and friends, you will need to show proof of vaccination. You may email your vaccination card by clicking here. Please note, there is always a risk associated with attending any in-person service or event.

When the six weeks of learning are completed, we’ll talk about whether and how to continue.
