Community Jewish High

Community Jewish High is a partnership between Tifereth Israel Synagogue and Temple Emanu El. All Jewish students in grades 8-12, whether synagogue members or not, are welcome.

We strive to create a community of Jewish teens who learn together and who learn about one another—who will forge connections that will extend beyond the confines of our classrooms.

Our Tuesday evening gatherings include sharing a meal in an informal setting and classes that offer a “little something for everyone.” They include hands-on learning, intellectually stimulating debates, exploring how to answer our most difficult questions and dilemmas and some guidance in life-skills, such as choosing the right college and how to maintain Jewish connections on campus.

There is also a hands-on social justice component to our program. Our tradition teaches each of us to lend a hand in tikun olam, in repairing the world.
