Sometimes, physical illness, mental illness or circumstance makes it hard to get out of the house. You are still part of the Tifereth Israel Community. Our goal is to enhance and nurture the spirit of community within our congregation by addressing the emotional and/or special needs of all of our congregants. We do this through acts of loving kindness (Gemilut Chasadim).
In the Torah, we are encouraged to emulate the attributes of God and visiting those in need is a step along this path. Rabbi Jonathan Sacks writes, “Small acts of kindness can change and humanize our world.”
If you would like someone to visit and spend time with you or a loved one, please let us know. This could be at home or in the hospital. If you can’t come to us, we will come to you! Don’t assume that we already know about this need.
We would like to hear from those in need and from those who would like to help out. If you would like a visit yourself, or know of a congregant who would benefit from a visit, please call the office, email , or fill out the form below. If you would like to participate in this mitzvah of Bikur Cholim and give back to the community that has given so much to us, contact Beth Klareich.
