A Note from our TIS President
Like many people, my husband and I were searching for a synagogue that felt like a good fit for us. Tifereth Israel is the most welcoming shul that we have ever attended. On that first visit, the Rabbi stepped down from the bimah in the middle of the service to introduce himself to us and make sure that we felt welcome. We knew that we had found our home!
Just as we were welcomed, we hope that you will experience the warmth and caring of this amazing community. There are so many ways to find connection here no matter your age, experience, stage of life, political beliefs or identity. We are stronger and more resilient together. There is something here for everyone.
At Tifereth Israel Synagogue, we are part of a larger community that supports each other through ups and downs using our values, heritage and relationships to sustain us. We learn together how Jewish values can guide us and inspire us to live a life of meaning.
I feel privileged to serve as president of the first Conservative synagogue in San Diego, a congregation that isn’t afraid to adapt while remaining true to the traditions. From preschool and Torah school to marching in the San Diego Pride Parade and supporting interfaith couples to joining together in musical prayer and providing a daily morning Minyan so anyone can say Kaddish for a loved one, Tifereth Israel is here for you.
Thank you so much for joining us. Whether it is for a service or two while on vacation or for the long term, you will always be welcome at Tifereth Israel Synagogue. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you!
